Welcome Back to School

Hello Parents,

Thank you to all of you who were able to make it to IPP meetings. It's always a pleasure to have the opportunity to meet with you in person. Please remember if you have any questions or concerns, you can reach us at 403-777-8170.

We have been hard at work in EDC.

Rachel's class has been learning about Mat Man, Body parts, and Emotions. At circle, they were singing the Mat Man song which reviews body parts, as well as singing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". In gym the students have been learning how to move like animals (bear walk, butterfly, giraffe, snake). The student's created a portrait of colours to celebrate how they were feeling. They also created Mat Man by using real materials to build a head, body, arms and legs.

They have just started to learn about Transportation. They will be learning about things that move on land, water, and in the air.

Tracey's class just finished learning about Farm Animals as well as prepositions (in, on, under). Our circle story was "Old Macdonald Lost his Animals" and we had to go on a scavenger hunt to find them and then put them in the barn. We created a lot of artwork of farm animals and made sheep, pigs and chickens. We also completed a collaborative art wall of a barn, a tree and a corn field.

We are now beginning to learn about clothing and how to dress ourselves. We will also be focusing on what clothing to wear based on the weather.
